Do’s and don’ts when photographing quilts….
(This came from a speaker at the Houston Quilt Show)
- Hang quilts on a neutral wall or background
- Do not lay the quilt over pieces of furniture or on a bed.
- Do not have distracting objects around the quilt that draw the eye away from your main focus.
- Learn how to crop your picture using available photo software programs on your computer.
- Make sure your camera is focused.
- Check lighting, natural or artificial.
- Set your camera to it highest resolution.
- Shoot straight.
- Check to make sure your photographs color matches your quilt.
